communicating happily

ISAAC - Singapore

is the official Singapore chapter of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC). We are a community-run society that strives to increase Awareness of AAC use, be an Advocate for the AAC community, and encourage Collaboration amongst all stakeholders, including persons who use AAC, family and caregivers, professionals, and more!

Our Mission

  • To empower users of AAC to be active participants of society with increased accessibility to support and resources.
  • To connect AAC users and all stakeholders to build up an AAC community.
  • To be an agent of change to influence policy changes that impact the AAC community.

Our Vision

AAC will be recognised, valued, and used throughout Singapore, with persons who use AAC as an integral part of society.

What We Do

To achieve our mission and vision, ISAAC - Singapore develops and participates in a range of initiatives to support awareness of AAC and advocacy for the AAC Community. These include creating platforms for collaboration across stakeholders, conducting talks/webinars, and participating in conversations amongst community partners. Two of our flagship activities include AAC Also Can and ISAAC SG Connect. Join us as a member or follow us on social media to stay updated on these events!

AAC Also Can

is a platform for persons who use AAC to meet other persons who use AAC. Through online and in-person meet ups, this is a space for perons who use AAC to support and mentor one another, and also just to hang out and have fun!

ISAAC SG Connect

is the quarterly newsletter of ISAAC - Singapore, which contains a wealth of information, updates, inspiring stories, and even art work from the AAC Community in Singapore.

A message from our president

Welcome to the webpage of ISAAC - Singapore!
My name is Michelle and I'm honoured to be working with an amazing team of AAC advocates! Since its beginning in 2020, ISAAC - Singapore has been committed to being by the AAC Community, for the AAC Community. We are very glad to have persons who use AAC and family members of people who use AAC as integral members in our executive committee and sub-committees. Building on the foundations laid, we hope to continue to

  1. 1) Connect the AAC Community, and
  2. 2) Make the voice of AAC users and their families heard

If you are keen to help make this happen, whether as a person who uses AAC, a family member, someone who works in the field, or just someone interested, I encourage you to join us! Reach out to use through any of these channels to keep updated on our latest events, or to volunteer with us!
